The Best And Worst Looks Of Emily in Paris

In all honesty, we have a little bit of jealousy for Emily in Paris. (Okay, a lot jealous.)
Deep down, we've been living vicariously via Emily Cooper as she wandered the City of Lights with a pain au chocolat in one hand and a how-did-she-afford-that Chanel handbag in the other, despite the series' many clichés and the countless Emily In Paris memes they've inspired.
We're not really concerned with whether or not the clothing is "realistic" because of the actress's salary, which probably prevents her from truly being able to afford all the limited edition Chanel pieces she often dons. It is actually fairly obvious that Emily is not a "fashionista," and that the clothing are really more of a wink and a bow to us, the audience—something to distract us from the dystopian drama that is 2020.
We've compiled almost all of Lily Collins' outfits from Emily in Paris and classified them from most to least ringarde in order to honour our protagonist's sense of style and the fun of being a touch "basic" from time to time. Continue scrolling to see them all.
Her Absolute Best: Hepburn-Inspired Glam
In order to see Swan Lake at the ballet and persuade Pierre Cadault to continue working for her company, Emily channelled Audrey Hepburn from "Ringarde." A necklace was inserted by the costume designer as a hairpiece, and it looks amazing.
Even though I often detest Emily's clothing choices, I must admit that she really outdid herself on this one. Emily looks great in this, from her black dress, which gives a traditional silhouette a little bit of interest, to her nicely coiffed hair. Even her makeup complements the outfit nicely.
Her Worst Nightmare: A Plethora Of Clashing Patterns
Nobody knows better than me not to mix patterns in any of my outfits. Emily's skirt is snakeskin, her top is a landscape, and her shoes, which are hidden in this picture, are covered with graffiti. By the way, nobody wears those shoes at the Savoir office.
The components don't work properly together. Emily wanted to make a good impression during her first week at Savoir, but I wish she had opted for a more understated look. Since it's a fashion-focused show, I was genuinely surprised when she appeared onscreen wearing this.
She Loves Red
It's undeniable that Emily prefers the colour red. She appears like a princess because it blends in so perfectly with her skin tone and hair. This is amusing because Lily Collins didn't wear red when she portrayed Snow White. In this "French Revolution" episode from season 2, she is giving serving looks in all directions.
She appears more at home at a contemporary fashion display than she does with Pierre and her boss. Contrarily, Pierre exudes a classic Regency aesthetic, which was the showcase's intended theme. She's intended to look mature, but her employer, oh my, that could have been done better.
What Exactly Is She Trying To Do?
What clothing is on her? Seriously, who came up with this idea? Is she wearing a red-patterned fedora and a jersey over a lace blouse? Her makeup is the only positive aspect of her appearance. And virtually every scene features the same makeup style.
I only want to speak with the costume team because, if they were attempting to mimic American fashion trends, they fell short. They ought to have picked up the jersey and thrown it away after taking a quick glance at the cap. With that lace shirt, they could have done something.
Having the Appearance of a Modern Princess
Emily wore a traditional outfit in episode two to honour Paris' enduring splendour. She was noticeable even among the other black-clad attendees. She lets her hair down naturally, like most French characters do, which contrasts with the rest of the season.
I had hope for the remainder of the season because of this particular garment. Sadly, it is largely alone itself in a sea of ugly clothing. But Emily deserves credit for pulling off a ballerina-inspired dress much better than I had anticipated.
Not Well Combined
The attire is nice, but not all at once. Despite being cute, the skirt and top don't complement each other nicely. She also has to get rid of those enormous belts. They don't change anything about how she dresses. I understand their intentions, but it doesn't look right.
Gabriel's presence in this scene makes it somewhat awkward even before it begins. With this attire, they took an awkward situation and made it worse. If they had given her something to go with the skirt, this outfit could have been better. like perhaps a blouse in a single colour?
