Drink lots of water

Drinking lots of water is the easiest way to lose weight. Water helps fill you up so you eat less and feeling full will prevent you from overeating. Drinking plenty of water also keeps your body hydrated and healthy and helps flush out toxins that can cause fatigue. Remember to drink a glass of water before each meal or snack, and try carrying a bottle with you during the day for constant sips.

Cut out sugary drinks

Sugar is something we don’t need in our diets, but have a hard time eliminating. This is because there are so many products laced with it that most of us can't help but consume it. Eliminating sugary drinks will be one of the first changes you will make to your diet since they are usually the biggest sources of added sugar and empty calories. Cut out carbonated drinks, sports drinks, and sweetened iced tea or coffee beverages. Add lemon ginger tea to your diet!

Eat more protein

Protein is the building block for muscle. When you eat more protein, your body will store less fat, and this can help you lose weight. Protein-rich foods are also satisfying, so they'll help you avoid cravings for unhealthy foods later on. For example, try adding a hard-boiled egg to your salad or adding beans to your tacos. Try protein-filling salads.

Eat more vegetables

If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories than your body needs. One of the ways to do this is by eating fewer calories but more vegetables. To make sure you're getting enough vegetables, eat at least five portions a day. This will not only help you lose weight, but it'll also provide vital nutrients and keep your energy levels up.

Avoid processed foods

One of the best ways to lose weight is to avoid processed foods. Processed foods are usually high in sugar, salt, and fat and many times contain trans fats which can lead to health problems like heart disease, diabetes, or even cancer. Instead of eating processed food, focus on eating healthy alternatives like vegetables, fruit, and whole grains. This will not only help you lose weight but will also help prevent chronic diseases.

Avoid eating late at night

The most important thing I did to lose weight was to stop eating late at night. This had a two-fold effect: first, it helped me avoid overeating, and second, I slept better because my body wasn't digesting food while I was asleep. This might seem like an obvious answer, but it made all the difference for me.

Incorporate exercise into your daily routine

No matter what type of exercise you're into, whether it's running, biking, swimming, or weightlifting, it will all help you lose weight. Make sure to aim for a minimum of 30 minutes of vigorous exercise every day. If you're looking for an easy way to incorporate exercise into your daily routine, try taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work or trade your TV time for a 10-minute walk each night. Commitment is key when trying to lose weight and once you find something that works for you, try to stick with it!
