Paratha, Butter loaf, Lacha Paratha

Ingredients:

    • 1½ Tbsp Sugar
    • 1 tbsp Salt
    • 1 Cup Milk
    • Water As Per Required
    • 1 Tbsp Oil
    • Oil/Ghee For Frying
    • 1 KG All Purpose Flour

Instructions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  • Slowly add the milk while mixing with your hands.
  • Add water as needed to make a soft, pliable dough.
  • Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into equal-sized balls 
  • Roll out one ball into a thin, round disc.
  • Brush the surface with ghee or oil and sprinkle a little flour over it.
  • Starting from one end of the disc, make a series of pleats, each about 1 inch wide, all the way to the other end.
  • Hold the pleats together tightly and twist the pleated dough into a tight spiral.
  • Tuck the end of the spiral underneath the paratha.
  • Roll out the spiral gently into a round paratha.
  • Heat a tawa or griddle on medium-high heat and place the paratha on it.
  • Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until light golden brown, brushing with ghee or oil as needed.
