Lacha Paratha
Lacha Paratha , which is perfect for Sehri during Ramadan or any time of the year.
Paratha, Butter loaf, Lacha Paratha
Ingredients:
- 1½ Tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1 Cup Milk
- Water As Per Required
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- Oil/Ghee For Frying
- 1 KG All Purpose Flour
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Slowly add the milk while mixing with your hands.
- Add water as needed to make a soft, pliable dough.
- Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls
- Roll out one ball into a thin, round disc.
- Brush the surface with ghee or oil and sprinkle a little flour over it.
- Starting from one end of the disc, make a series of pleats, each about 1 inch wide, all the way to the other end.
- Hold the pleats together tightly and twist the pleated dough into a tight spiral.
- Tuck the end of the spiral underneath the paratha.
- Roll out the spiral gently into a round paratha.
- Heat a tawa or griddle on medium-high heat and place the paratha on it.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until light golden brown, brushing with ghee or oil as needed.
