The real world may not be ideal for many. While others have issues with the virtual world taking over their lives. Now there is something that can lead to both parties becoming happier than before, which is the virtual world. Some have issues with problematic games like Roblox. Others are trailblazers in creating solutions to help people.

Donkan Martinez is one such person who has channeled his troubles in the virtual world and got better.

He used the concept of virtual mental health care, via a service called Innerworld. People can use Innerworld to get mental health support. The thought is that people open up in front of strangers easily. Using this idea they built up and thought if the users are given avatars and a cloak of anonymity they will share their feelings easily.

The founder of this app Noah Robinson shared that it is not a therapy alternative, " It’s not therapy and we can’t provide crisis intervention. Our goal with Innerworld is to be a longer-term place where people can come to help prevent themselves from getting to the point of being in crisis. Or we have people who are hospitalized who come out and are looking for additional support.”

As the user enters the Innerworld, they have a variety of settings to choose from. They can opt for hiking trails or libraries or even a bonfire setting. At that point, they interact with other avatars or search for online group activities such as group discussions, support groups, or online meditation.

The efficacy of Innerworld’s approach is so so far not been researched and studied. Many factors have to count before it is given a green flag. However, with the world evolving, opening up to new people while keeping your identity hidden seems like a good idea for adults!
