In a viral video, the student, Noh Huyn-soo, is seen removing the banana from the wall and eating it, leaving the stunned audience with the fruit's peel taped back in place. When questioned by the media, the student said that he was hungry after skipping breakfast and believed that damaging contemporary artwork could be considered artwork in itself.

The student's performance garnered humorous responses from netizens, with one person stating that they had also eaten impressionist painter Vincent Willem van Gogh out of hunger.

Another user quipped, "I think they call it transformative art." A third lauded the student for not letting the banana go to waste, while a fourth user remarked, "It's hard to distinguish between genius and foolishness in art."

The museum authorities stated that they would not take any action against the student, as they replace the artwork every two to three days.
