Nespresso Now Making Compostable Coffee Pods

The world is moving towards biodegradable and easy solutions. This change of direction has led to many changes in many brands. People have become conscious of their food, clothing, and living choices to make a positive impact on the world.

However, Nespresso received a lot of flak for their non-biodegradable pods.

The world runs on coffee and they need it to perform well. North America, and Europe all consume coffee and use Nespresso pods at home for a cup that is pocket friendly. 

Lately, the use of biodegradable pods was a hot topic. And, finally, Nespresso announced that its "breakthrough paper-based home compostable capsule" will roll out in 2023.

After 3 years of R&D the fruit of their labor is up for the world. . "We're more committed than ever to widening the sustainable choices we offer our consumers," said Nespresso CEO Guillaume Le Cunff. 

The research took a long period so they could ensure the best quality for all. "High-precision paper pulp forming process with a biodegradable layer, which protects against oxidation to help keep the coffee fresh inside," shared Head of Global R&D Julia Lauricella
