Famous Designer Khadija Shah In Police Custody

Khadija Shah, the alleged prime suspect in the attack on Jinnah House, has declared her intention to surrender to the police amidst a crackdown on individuals involved in damaging and setting fire to public and military installations across the country on May 9. She is accused of leading the attack on Lahore Corps Commander's House, also known as Jinnah House, during the widespread mayhem.

Claim of PTI Support and Personal Involvement

Khadija claims to be a supporter of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and asserts that she participated in the protest outside Lahore Corps Commander's House as an individual supporter of Imran Khan. She denies any wrongdoing or incitement to violence.

Khadija's Account of the Events

According to Khadija, she joined a PTI procession at Liberty Chowk in Lahore to protest against the arrest of the former prime minister. She states that she met with PTI leader Andleeb Abbas, who informed her that the protesters intended to stage a demonstration at Corps Commander's House. Khadija maintains that she and Andleeb attempted to prevent the ransacking but were unable to control the growing crowd.

Allegations and Accusations Made by Khadija

While acknowledging her posting of videos on Twitter to expose the ransacking during an alleged media blackout, Khadija denies crossing the barricades at Jinnah House or inciting violence. She accuses the authorities of victimization, alleging that her house was raided, and her husband and father were forcibly taken away.

Crackdown on Women Involved and Background

The Punjab Interim Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, recently declared that women involved in the May 9 attacks on military installations will be arrested at all costs. These violent protests were triggered by the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case. The protests resulted in casualties, injuries, and extensive damage to national institutions and buildings, including the General Headquarters and Jinnah House. Internet services were also suspended for over 72 hours nationwide.
