7 Things Your Gynecologist Will Never Tell You

The majority of women regularly visit gynecologists for medical care, but despite years spent in the stirrups, many patients still experience anxiety before their yearly appointments. For some people, seeing a gynecologist can be an uncomfortable, private, or even embarrassing experience, but for the medical professionals providing care, it's just another workday.
In reality, these physicians have seen it all, from patients with intriguing suggestions for how to care for their bodies to carry out life-saving operations just in time. Make sure you are aware of these gynecological secrets your doctor won't tell you before scheduling your annual appointment.
Your Gynecologist Doesn’t Care How You Groom
Your doctor probably won't give your taste for pubic hair much thought, whether you're wearing a landing strip, going bare, or keeping things natural. One male OB-GYN claims, "Groomed or un-groomed makes no distinction." He has, though, observed some patterns in his field of work: "Most people seem to be groomed these days." Add these overnight beauty items to your normal routine for those occasions when you do want to look a little more put together.
Shower Before Your Appointment
Even if your doctor usually doesn't give a damn about how you look, you should still make sure you're tidy before an examination. One doctor asserts that having good personal hygiene is more important than everything else. Their suggestion? All you need is some water and mild soap.
Accessorizing Your Vagina Is A Bad Idea
Shave or color your pubic hair in a vivid green lightning bolt form. Never, under any circumstances, accessorize inside. "It was a dreadful experience for me when one of my patients decided to sprinkle glitter all over his or her lower body. Glitter. THE SMELL, OH MY GOD. Although she claimed it smelled like "rotten meat," the scent was considerably worse. For the remainder of the day, while we aired out that room, we were unable to allow any patients in "claims a physician. Keep it simple; just clean things up.
Don’t cancel an appointment due to your period
If you underestimated or forgot your due date, do not cancel or reschedule; gynecologists are accustomed to seeing blood when babies are delivered. Particularly if your periods are irregular—which is in and of itself an issue that you're avoiding by skipping appointments—it may be difficult to schedule a new appointment, and there is no assurance that you will be clear on the next visit. Simply give your doctor a call in advance and ask whether they may examine you when you're menstruating.
Express Your Serious Health Concerns
For the most part out of embarrassment, most women opt to put up with chronic itching, a suspicious bulge, odor, or discharge from their vagina. If you see anything unusual, consult your gynecologist for an appropriate diagnosis. It could be something minor, like an ingrown hair, or it could be a significant problem, like vulvar skin problems. In either case, your disease will be cured and your mind will be at ease.
Don't let a urinary tract infection fester
Urinary Tract Infections, or UTIs, are extremely prevalent and are characterized by a continual urge to pee and a burning feeling while doing so. However, they shouldn't be ignored because if left untreated, a UTI can spread to the kidneys and result in several renal diseases. Therefore, the next time you have a UTI, avoid using any home cures (apart from drinking lots of water) and instead visit your gynecologist right once.
Don't pretend to be a doctor
There is a reason why doctors have medical degrees. While most gynecologists value knowledgeable, concerned patients, it is not advisable to self-diagnose based on web research and ask your doctor about available treatments. Let your gynecologist test and examine you to provide an accurate diagnosis as you describe your symptoms and suspicions.
